Smudgers Mutts simply adore dogs. Our clients love being pampered in our dedicated ‘Groom Room’ in a very home from home environment, with access to a garden. Grooming is an essential part of the ongoing health and well being of your dog too, which we take great pride in helping you maintain.

We tailor our cuts to suit each client and their owners’ specific preferences, and we always make time for play and cuddles during the grooming process. We love the way dog customers drag their owners in every time they come back!

Smudgers Mutts offer a flexible, friendly service. We do not have a fixed breed led price list because we would rather provide you with a tailor made quotation for your pooch.

The grooming process involves a thorough wash and dry of your dog, paws will be cleared, ears cleaned, nails cut and excess hair removed – resulting in a healthy knot free coat. We also carry out a health check during the grooming process and often identify parasites and health issues that you may not have been aware of.

Our aim is always to work with you and your dog to gain the end result you are happy with, at a cost that is acceptable to everyone.

Dog home boarding in Cheltenham

Smudgers Mutts are now pleased to announce that we have fully licensed and insured dog home boarding facilities in Cheltenham, available for your dog. Should you need care for a long holiday, just a short break or even one night we can take care of your dog for you.

They will stay with Smudger in her family home in Cheltenham, be taken on walks to suit your dogs needs, and cared for in her own home with Smudger and her dog loving children.

Please call to discuss your requirements, where we can chat about what your needs are and how we will aim to meet them, check availability and arrange for you and your dog to come and meet us at home.

We already have regulars who are revisiting Smudgers Mutts Dog Home Boarding and they always have a wagging tail on arrival, clearly looking forward to the start of their next holiday with us!

Our cocker spaniel has been boarding with Smudger’s Mutts for a couple of years and he loves it! I am always so happy to leave him there because I know that it is like a home from home for him. He’s loved and looked after so well. I love receiving the photos of what he’s up too, so good to see he’s enjoying his holidays as much as we are! I couldn’t recommend it more highly.

Whilst looking after my parents dog, George, I took him to Sarah at Smudgers Mutts for a well needed hair cut!
Upon arriving at the groom room, I was invited in to drop George off. I quickly got into conversation with Sarah and the rest of the Smudgers Mutts team, Sophie, Lisa and Gemma.
I have to say I was immediately put at ease, and George, who does get a bit stressed at times, was happy playing in the back garden with the rest of the dogs who were waiting to be groomed.
Whilst chatting I actually witnessed the dogs being shampooed, blow dried and then groomed by the girls! I have to say all the dogs were extremely happy and were constantly wagging their tails! They were treated exceptionally well and it was lovely to see the girls talk to the dogs whilst they were being groomed.
The way they handled the dogs ensured they were never scared or upset and were constantly reassured with big cuddles throughout!
I highly recommend Smudgers Mutts!

Lucy (my Cockapoo) went for her first puppy groom at Smudger’s Mutts at 4 months old. She had a wonderful time and came back looking and smelling amazing! So many people commented on how fab Lucy looked! Would recommend Sarah and her team to anyone and if you are the owner of a puppy I would advise you to get them booked in so that they can get used to grooming 🙂

Piper had the best time. Got to play with Sarah’s dogs first and she then made herself right at home. When I picked her up she looked and smelt lush! She is definitely a fidget bum but after lots of understanding, cuddles and patience from Sarah I collected my happy little lady who looked beautiful. Will definitely be returning for more pamper sessions in the future. Piper is now parading around the house as if to say “look at me… I’m pretty! 🙂 Thank you so much xx
